Reading through one of my favorite blogs a few days ago i stumbled across Renaissance Man. Now house music is definitely not on my type of dance music but i could not ignore his chilled yet pounding basslines with great melodies and trippy incidentals added in to keep it interesting.

Simply put, R!M!E isn't as big as he should be. He has been talked about out on many respected blogs, He has been putting out consistently good tracks with solid production and oh, not to forget that the legendary Fake Blood tends to incorporate R!M!E's remix of Mars over his own original in his live sets!
The man has been nice enough to give me a exclusive track and minimix. High Rankin's Track - No money for guns has a very unique sound and R!M!E has transformed this into a slightly more club friednly track with his signature drums and cool synths and effects.
High Rankin - No Money for guns (R!M!E remix) (YSI)
His Minimix is crazy! Perfectly created in Ableton, Boasting a tracklist with as much variation (but not as quite as many songs) as bang gang's 5 min minimx, it has everything from Bird Peterson to The Cool Kids, he has even incorporated Tracks from The Doors and The Beatles! If these 30 tracks in 15 mins is any indication on how he will be playing on the 23rd this may be one of the biggest night of my life!

I'm sure you have already heard of Deadmau5 and most probably Caspa. Both Superstars in their own right and both having very unique but popular styles, this collaboration was certain to be a success from get go. I think this will probably will be the ending song in many a festival sets coming up this year, i guess we will just have to wait and see how big this really does blow up.

I don't know much about Little Jinder, but they have been remixed by two of my favorite underground artists.
The Black Holes remix of Hollywood Holt was probably one of the first tracks i ever downloaded off a blog that wasn't a mainstream or popular artists, since then they have brought out quality tracks and this is no exception. Classic side chaining ad a nice distorted crunchy synth that sounds so familiar yet i can put my finger on what it sounds like!
Little Jinder - Polyhedron (Black Holes Remix) (YSI)

Supra1 have done a much heavier dubstep/bassline take on this track. If i had this in full quality i would probably just hire out a club to hear this as loud as possible. One of my favourite tracks at the moment and if you like the heavier electro and haven't heard much dubstep, this could be a perfect example of what you should be listening too. Crazy synth lines kick in at about 2 mins, it sounds like if some hectic middle eastern snake charmers ever graced the wheels of steel.

Husband and Wife combo Mixhell have been absolutely killing it lately. Their live sets have been hyped as one of the most amazing acts going around with a live drum/dj set wowing audiences accross the globe. With just a few original productions under their belt they have already had royal remix treatment on their recent singles by the likes of Crookers, Edu-K, Brodinski & Toxic Avenger(just to name a few). As if that wasn't enough convincing they obviously are in the league of superiors if they are backed by Houratrons own label New Judas. It looks like they are bound to succeed. Do i need to say anymore?
This is the Les Petits Remix of Boom Da, The looped vocals at the start of the track leading into a little breakdown makes this song one of my favourite tracks at the moment.

Phonic Touring will be throwing our first Sydney party at The Arthouse on the 23rd of May. Headlining will be the much anticipated first live set of new up and coming Sydney duo THIS/IS with a host of other amazing local acts spread over two rooms including established local acts Bang Gang Deejays, Distrakt, Destroy Disco, Dolemite and also some great up and comers looking after the second room. I'm going to try and post some tracks that will give you the idea of what to expect on the night, good DJ's good production good times.
First off i have an older track from THIS/IS (i am waiting for permission to post their new track 'sucker free') that you may or may have not heard before, this is the reason that they caught my attention in the first place and also the reason why they already have a strong following with only a few tracks under their belt. Tight production and is the foundation of their distinct, unique sound.
THIS/IS - W.H.S.L. (YSI)

Secondly i have the Bang Gang Deejays 5 min minimix they did most recently for Annie Mac's BBC1 Radio show. I have never really been a fan of this because it doesn't really give much time for the amazing dj's they have to strut their stuff but this gives the Soulwax mix that had only
intros a big run for its money in the creativity department. The result is 82 tracks in 5 mins, don't ask me how they did it but if they play at this rate on the night you could expect to hear some 984 songs in an hour!

Distrakt has been on my radar for quite some time and his track Phonic is always in constant circulation on my ipod/laptop. Has a really nice buldup in the middle that will definieitly get the people moving when the bassline is dropped. His next track 'wrecker' will be out soon so keep an eye out for some exclusive tracks on this blog from distrakt!

To be quite honest even though they have quite alot of tracks i haven't given destroy disco alot of attention on my ipod, i can tell you that they are blogged from alot of respectable people. Pelski, Palms Out Sounds and Datasapiens just to name a few. This is probably their most well known track in all of it's 320k glory. Nice thumping bassline and some cool wobble and lfo effects going on.

If you have any tracks that you would like to be blogged please send them through to phonic.touring at gmail dot com. But please no mixes as it will make our inbox wayyy to full.

I heard this song played when i was out quite a while ago and i have only just last weekend been able to track down the dj and get a hold of it! Unfortunately i have no idea of the remixer but it is One of the best cross-genre remixes i have ever heard, it's easy to mix in and i'm sure everyone has heard the original at least once before to get the floor moving.

Not sure if this is the full version but definitely mixable. Crookers put their signature mark on one of the most played songs of last year.
